In early 1997, some members of the Pine Bluff Police Department, who all enjoyed riding motorcycles, got together and started a motorcycle club. We called our new club "The POSSE." The name was chosen because it was the nickname of the Patrol Graveyard shift, which most of us were part of. In August of 1998 we heard about the Blue Knights Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club. After learning about the history of the organization, we decided that it projected the image that we were looking for and so, Arkansas IV was born. Since that time, we have become a chapter of 19 members and growing. With Officers and retired Officers from the Pine Bluff Police Dept., White Hall Police Dept., Arkansas State Police and the Arkansas Governor Security.
We hold an annual Toy Ride on the 2nd Saturday of December to benefit the needy children in our community. We put on a Car/Truck/Bike Shows and Poker Runs to raise money for different charity organizations like the Scholarship Fund for the Children of Slain Police Officers. We also participate in other charity events such as the March of Dimes and Toys for Tots. Basically we are just a bunch "Good ole boys" that have experienced the very stressful job of law enforcement, that sometimes feels "thankless" and "hopeless". But we all strive for excellence both on and off duty and through our chapter we maintain the comraderie of the brotherhood of the "Thin Blue Line". We are still a fairly new chapter, and learning as we go. We plan to continue to grow and try to help form other chapters of the Blue Knights throughout our state.
